New Adz finish
This new edge detail has been the most requested modern edge so far this year! Its super simple and minimalistic, but also cutting edge (no pun intended). Here are a few examples of what the finished edge looks like in a kitchen. The most common material to have this done, is a soapstone, limestone, basalt and possibly a granite.

Soapstone with Navy Blue or black cabinets
This combination doesn’t sound like it would look good, but take a peek! It makes a gorgeous couple!

Soapstone horse
Whats nice about the stone business, is that everyday there are new requests on what we can make out of stone. Its almost like a field trip walking through the fabrication shop, to see what new request is being created. Here is a horse that was hand carved from a solid block of soapstone. It was for a backsplash behind the range in a large kitchen, located on a ranch in Montana. Great carving job Tiffany Homchick!
Soapstone Firebox
We have lots of gray days here in Seattle, Washington. So we love having the fireplace roaring in the Fall & Winter months. The most efficient way, is having the fire as hot as it can get, and having it stay warm as long as it can. The solution is having soapstone installed inside your firebox. Here is a photo of a chevron pattern with soapstone firebricks. Another popular design is the herringbone pattern. This is hands down, the best material you can use to retain temperature!
Behind the scenes
Here are a few behind the scene photos, of our stone mason Andy, fabricating a Black Moon Soapstone kitchen island & perimeter.
